Tribes

March 31, 2009

“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” Jane Howard

I love this quote. Have you read the book “Tribes” by Squidoo.com founder Seth Godin? I highly recommend this book. I first heard about Squidoo when I saw a interview of Seth on the Today Show. Seth Godin is a author of numerous business books and a popular speaker with appearances at Google, TED and everywhere in the world. Seth Godin popularized the topic of permission marketing. He is a pioneer, a heretic, and a leader.

When I saw the above quote I instantly thought of Seth. In his book he speaks to the leader of the tribe as he educates the reader on how to build, maintain, and lead. You can learn from Seth on his blog

Yes whatever you call it, you need one.

Today I am adding the word team to the list. If you want to reach your goals a team is essential.

Retweets

March 30, 2009

Some days I get carried away on Twitter. I guess you could say I have “Twitter guilt”, I know I should be doing more productive work during my limited computer time but, here I am tweeting. So, as proof (to myself) that I worked today I am posting my favorite tweets by my friends on Twitter.

Yes I Did!

March 26, 2009

Hire myself! I started my own business and it is thriving!

If you believe the headlines, you would soon be running around like the character in one of my favorite stories from my childhood, “Chicken Little” shouting ‘the sky is falling, the sky is falling”!

Stop it already! Yes these are troubled times. But this is also a time to to thrive.

The path of entrepreneurs are paved with success stories from people who built their empires douring tough economic times.

Yes I did start a home business and it was not easy at first, but I learned the skills I needed to work from home just as I learned the skills I needed to work at the Post Office for 23 years.

I share what I learned with anyone who asks for help. So give me a call and let’s talk. All I ask is that you read this free book: Success In 10 Steps
This is the information that is changing lives. My contact info is at the back of the book.

Yes you can, too!

Getting Organized

March 25, 2009

I attended a fabulous networking event yesterday. I am in a hurry so I will detail the event here in a later update.
I have to share my lessons learned with you now.
My day started with training at the the Bulk Mail Center, the lunch, and then working 2 hours at my main job ant the Post Office. I walked from all 3 events inspired.
So this morning I over slept one hour. When I work up I started organizing my office. It is one of the most critical steps to success. Organization.
I am off to work now so I will be back at 5 to 9.

Technology is fascinating

March 24, 2009

I could not sleep this morning as I was awaken by a thunderstorm, so I jumped online and worked on Facebook and Twitter profiles. I successfully synced them. WooHoo!
I remember the time when I was techno terrified! Whew! Thoser were the days. But now I just roll up my sleeves and commit to the task. Just like the comedian the “Cable Guy” says: “I get it done” (I have yet to learn how to write in my southern drawl, so utter this as southern as you can)

Finding time to work pursue my dreams

March 23, 2009

How many times have  you heard this phrase?

“If you want something bad enough you will do whatever it takes to go out and get it.”

Many, many times right? In fact that brings to mind another phrase:

“If I had a nickel for every time I have heard someone repeat that, I would be rich.” Right?

If you are reading my blog, then you are in the right place to start counting your nickels. You see I  am one of the people who are taking action to get the things I want bad enough and am doing something to get it

What I am doing is something I have done all of my life. You have also done it all of your life.  In fact I was doing this activity for free. So I decided to get paid for it. And you can too!

Networking.

Yes something we humans are born doing. Networking.

I network all the time. With my family, friends, co-workers,  customers, strangers, online, and offline.

I now am being paid to network and you can too.

There are challenges that sometimes get in my way and that’s normal. My number 1 challenge was finding the time necessary to devote to my business. I had the place, my home but not the time. I work outside of my home as well , so time is of an essence. I discovered one day that I had oll the time I needed between the hours of 5 to 9.

So I have decided to start this blog to share my journey with you as I travel this journey of Entrepreneurship

So come back often and network with me. If you do, you’ll get educated , entertained, and enriched as we take the actions necessary to  pursue goals of getting what we want together.

And when I am not here please follow me on Twitter
