From the Post Office to a Home Office

June 28, 2009

Hello! Hello! Hello!

It’s been a few weeks now since I received my “pink slip” in the mail (yep, the one I delivered to myself). Since my last post I have been wandering through the pre unemployment land of waiting in limbo.

Waiting to see what the next action will be. Will I be offered a new position and possible be transferred to up to 500 miles of where I wok now as some of the people before me has been? Will I be lucky enough to stay where I and ride out the next few years to my official retirement? i don’t know. So I am waiting.

While I wait I continue to work on my plan B. That has been my savings grace. To quote Michael Jackson “You Are Not Alone”. If you are in a similar postion where you are in jeoprady of losing your present employment or have already lost you job, YOU ARE NOT ALONE”.

I woke up yesterday, which was also the first day of my first vacation for 2009, and realized my good fortune. I have been successfully building a foundation that will be in place as I navigate the changes in the work culture that is affecting my lifestyle. I have a literally gone from the Post Office the a Home office. This is the way of work in the future. And the best news is that I can help you now! Today! I can teach you how I made my transition and how you can in your present situation land on you feet ant rebound from your situation.

Leave a comment and let me know what your plan B is here. Read this book to start your journey. http://RuthBradford.com

You Don’t Have to Quit Your Day Job

April 26, 2009

I woke up this morning with this exact quote on my mind. Well, it was more like “keep you day job” or “don’t quit your day job”
This phrase has been used to often as a joke to ridicule a bad singer or performer. Today however a very serious thing is happening and it is no joke.
Many people who have in the past enjoyed “job security” are finding out that there is no such thing as “job security”.
The economy is tanking. Companies are laying off employees with 10, 15, and more years of seniority. No one is exempt anymore. Yours truly, as well. Yes. I have been personally affected as have millions of other americans by the changes taking place today in our business environment.

That is why I never quit my day job while I pursued a second career as a Network Marketing Professional.

Please read this article from Entrepreneur magazine. It will give you some greats pointers to help you decide to create our exit plan or you back up plan, as I have. If I can help you on your journey please contact me.

The Power of a Tribe

April 17, 2009

In a previous post I wrote about the book “Tribes”, by Seth Godin. Since that post, I saw something very interesting on Twitter. Aston Kutcher and Larry King (CNN) were in a race to see who could reach one million followers first. Here is a post from the “Huffington Post” showing the race.

This for me was a very good lesson on networking and leading a tribe.

i wonder what Seth thinks about this? Did Ashton read “Tribes”? He sure did follow Seth’s advice.

When I woke up this morning I found out the results.
